There are a few issues with Mobile Crisis Teams that many of people are dedicated to solving. 1) Most of them can only visit a residential or shelter. They cannot be called to a public facility or the streets 2) In order for the Teams to be most successful, we must have alternative places to take the participants such as respites rather than hospitals 3) We must have a better infrastructure in place to assist in delegating the calls. We now have 988, but it is still in it’s infancy and 911 does not currently have any means to redirect the calls.
Once we figure this shit out, we’ll be able to save a shit ton of taxpayer dollars for 911 calls…
