Minefield (Poem)

Evading thoughts of you
in my minefield

I tried to take a little step
But my heart slipped

I ain’t gon find no other way
than the one that takes me
higher

I ain’t gon find no better place
than the spot you take me
under

Shock me where I stand
Watch me burn and smolder

I’ll lay out on the floor
then thank you when it’s over
