That Awkward Moment (Poem)

What an awkward moment
When you realize you’re wrong

And everything you thought you knew
turns out to be a con

When you look around at the world you hate
And see a reflection of you

And the “you” you see bears more truth
than you could ever accrue

What an awkward moment…

When there’s nothing left for you to say
to sway the trodden path toward horror of your ways

Oh what an awkward moment…

When there’s nothing left for you to do
But burn down your beating bush
And join the rebel coup

That awkward moment…

When you’re caught out there
Freak flag flapping in the breeze

Letting all the whole world know
You’ve come to join the team

That awkward moment…
When they take your hand
